It is a total disgrace to close the only bank in Tarporley. The NatWest are purely closing the bank as a cost cutting exercise and showing a total disregard to it's loyal customers and staff. They say use the Post Office, but not all transactions can be carried out there and will only add extra pressure on an already extremely busy facility. This bank is vital to the community.

Tarporley is a fast growing town and to close the only bank would be detrimental to many people/businesses. As a business owner I use the bank on a regular basis (often calling in several times a week) and there is always a queue, so if anything it is under staffed rather than under used. There are many elderly people in the village who are not able to bank on-line. It will be a sad day and a real loss to the village if this bank closes.

1. Tarporley has had so many new houses authorised with a target of a minimum of 300 new houses between 2010 to 2030 because it is classed by the County Council as a "Key Service Centre". With NatWest closed it will no longer offer one of the most significant key services - banking.
2. NatWest is owned by RBS which was bailed out by us taxpayers in the "Financial Crisis" and is still around 73% owned by the British Government.
3. The Government has a role to play in this and should ensure that the Branch stays open.

The closure of this branch will have a serious impact on residents, businesses and local charities who rely on using a high street bank branch and cannot use on line banking.

It is ridiculous that a village this size, with profitable businesses, new housing estates (with more being planned), will not have a bank People come from surrounding villages to bank in Tarporley and use the local facilities. With no bank - no incentive to come - local businesses will suffer

Rural communities need a minimum of one bank for shopkeepers to deposit cash and older people to use. The banks were happy for the communities of this country to bail them out in the crash, they now need to come up with a joint answer to supporting the community in return.

the queues at post office will be problematic and many people are unable to use/ do not trust the security of on line banking .

When we moved to Tarporley in 1995 we needed a household account and opened one with HSBC. This branch has now closed so I transferred my account to Nat West since I need an easily accessible bank. If this branch closes I will need to transfer again to another bank!

I use this bank on a weekly basis for my business banking. If it was to close I would have to travel to Chester just to deposit cheques, a one hour round trip. I'd probably end up leaving Natwest to be honest.

I switched bank to the NatWest when the HSBC closed in the summer. I am exasperated to hear that the NatWest is going to follow suit!

Known Tarp"s since I was a young boy in the 60s seen it change grow good and bad but this is a defo no no it will make life difficult for people buisnesses and well ,.it needs to be their . think again MR BANKER . best wishes and Happy Xmas to all..tc
