A short-sighted decision, and a severe blow to education in the region.

This needs properly managed, this resource should be self sufficient as it's a great facility.

What a waste of amazing resources - staff as well as the amazing countryside we live in

I sign this petition in support of Carlingwark Outdoor Centre. For the good of the children and future generations in our area

Yet another attempt to 'steal' a much needed resource from the community. Yet this Council can throw millions to rescue DG1 after it failed miserably to monitor the build by a disreputable builder.

Children need this for team building and confidence building, better than any classroom.

The buzz of adventure, excitement and achievement from my daughter on her return from Carlingwark has been a wonderful experience as a parent. I know only too well the kind of resilience, social awareness, team building and other key life skills a trip like this will have given her and many other children as they develop into young adults. It was exciting for her to hear my memories of a trip there at the same age as she wonders if it was the same bunk, same trail and so on. All of this joy is bittersweet though in the knowledge that this facility will no longer be available to our region. A massive loss for next generations

This should not happen and I think we all know why please don't take this from the next generations wee need this education in such a world full of everything else... This is more important than wee realise. If this goes ahead then it sends a message to our children. Our world should be going forward instead of back wards and our eart is being destroyed even at the smallest levall. PLEASE DON'T DO THIS. THINK OF OUR CHILDREN

Children are loosing enough resources and spending more time partaking in antisocial behaviour. Closing this is just letting them down again.

As a parent of three young children, two of whom have already visited and gained valuable life skills from Carlingwark, and the third scheduled to go shortly, I believe it is undoubtedly very short sighted to think that the financial gain is more valuable than the experiences given to those attending.

We must keep showing the young what is out there, far more interesting when it is someone who knows what they are talking about and can answer questions.
