Too valuable a resource to close. When you leave school it's trips like these you remember. Encourages Healthy and Wellbeing which has parity of esteem with Literacy and Numeracy in CfE.

Closing this to save wages by redeploying staff does not save any wages just moves their department, all this does is take away from children losing so much already... It's unjust!!

Outdoor education at grass roots is essential in DG where resources are limited. Carlingwark is fantastic establishment and gives many a test of the outdoors that they would never have access to. This facility has to remain open.

My son loved his time here with his school and often talks about his experiences, other kids in the area deserve to have the same experiences in years to come.

Very sad to hear the council is thinking of closing Carlingwark. Many childhood memories from stays here and my daughter going here too. Such a shame for the young people of Dumfries and Galloway a place where there aren't many chances for kids to go and have an experience like this.

I'm sure there are many other resources to consider before cutting educational resources like this.

Our kids benefit greatly from their residential trips here, in a remote region we must keep these facilities open

This is an amazing outdoor facility for our children. Some children may never get the chance to experience these outdoor activities if they didn't get to go with their school. It is a fab opportunity for our children. It also encourages children to be active and try new things.

This first class organisation gives young people a chance to taste adventure in an otherwise increasingly sanitised world.

Keep this venue open. We should be trying to keep the following generations active. This venue provides an alternative activity for the youngsters.

Outdoor education is such an important part of children’s education it is far too valuable to lose.
