They closed stronord last year, if they close this then there is nothing like this in this area for schools in dumfries and galloway. I went to carlingwark at school and that was 30 years ago. Surely there are other avenues that the council can look at before this.

My son had an accident in which he lost part of his right leg. He now has a prosthetic limbs. By going to Carlingwork Activity Centre he gained enormous confidence and self acheivement. As a family we owe the staff and facilities a huge debt of gratitude. Children need this place to stay open and be developed further into something even better.

The team at Carlingwark provide high quality OE for the children of the region that is not replicated by any other provider. It allows children from all backgrounds and financial situations to experience the massive benefits from OE. I urge D&G council to reconsider this decision.

My daughter went here with the school. I think it would be a huge loss if it were to close.

What a shame it would be for future kids never to experience this. No wonder they're addicted to screens!

The overwhelming research that shows the importance of outdoor education to children is undeniable, if this service is allowed to close it will be an absolute travesty.

This is a fantastic asset to the kids of Dumfries and Galloway and must be kept open for future generations of school children to gain vital learning amd skills from.

This is such an important facility for our kids in the area. Alex does a fantastic job with all of them. Somebody in their ivory tower who hasn’t a clue what a difference this place makes to our kids needs to step out of his office and actually visit to see what impact closing would make. This decision needs to be overturned.

Experience’s such as these are so important for youngsters to help them with self confidence ,plus there mental & physical abilities & social interaction with others . Why take these very much needed facilities from them . It’s ludicrous ..

Done my work experience here roughly 15 years ago! Before the renovations obviously! CD needs this for the kids to experience things they never normally would! Not like we have a lot in CD anyway!!
