Don’t close Carlingwark Outdoor Education Centre.

My daughter had a wonderful time on her school trip here and learned many valuable skills

Please keep this open so many kids that dont get holidays love this chance!!!

Carlingwark is too precious a resource to lose. I have been visiting the outdoor education centre for years with children, many of which do not get the opportunity through their family. Many of the children - over the years - have been able to excel and gain a sense of real pride in themselves as a result of participating in the many activities offered and as a result of the interaction with the skilled staff who present themselves with a real passion for the outdoors. The staff are better than excellent. Getting rid of Carlingwark takes away opportunities for all, youth motivation, positive destinations, respect and understanding for the outdoors, team-bonding, social skills, FUN! Do not get rid of Carlingwark!

All 3 of my children have been to carlingwark through their school and all 3 thoroughly enjoyed it , a great range of activities and gets the kids interacting with each other. It'll be a huge miss to schools in the area if it does close. Shame on you Dumfries and Galloway Council.

Stop taking things away from the kids.

This is a great service for kids building their confidence and team building. Why are they taking this off them when already we are seeing more cuts in our children’s education

Adults complain when kids sit in their roo m watching tv or on their computer. And then our Council shut Outdoor Education. Yes I accept that cuts need to be made but Councillors ave got their priorities all wrong. I hope that the public remember this decision at the next local election. Our family certainly will.

This closure would be so detrimental to the young people of D&G. This does not reflect the principles of the current administration. What Next ?????

It would be an utter travisty to lose this facility.

My daughter is 9 and had her first Carlingwark school experience last year. She loved every minute. It gets kids doing exactly what they should be doing - away from screens & enjoying the outdoors. This facility can only help our children become healthier individuals. Please don’t give up on this fantastic facility for the next generation.

Kids need to be able to learn new skills.

No consultation on closure to look at alternative options for outdoor Ed in area. Dumfries and Galloway is a brilliant area for outdoor sports. Let’s teach all our kids how to use it!

Get a grip council!!! Anything to do with education should have money thrown at it not taken away! Education is shaping our future citizens. Leave education alone and cut a few penpushers!!

Castle Douglas shouldn't lose such a valuable asset to the Town. Our children need it!!

We need to be fully supporting these resources in our local area not closing them down.

I went to carlingwalk as a child and my oldest has just attended last year. Why close a place that gets children off of computers and into the outdoors!

My son has additional learning needs and this was a great experience for him with great supportive staff.

A great facility that we can’t lose!
