Fed up hearing politicians talk off how they want the best start in life for our children, while the other hand is cutting vital outdoor education like this. Scotland has one of the best mountain landscapes in the world. We should be producing a future generation of outdoors men and women, climbers, etc. But no the suits and bean counters want to save what they can. They should be ashamed of their short-sightedness.

This is essential for the South West of Scotland not just Dumfries and Galloway.

This facility is a valuable part of outdoor education that some children may not receive readily and it would be sad to see it go

My daughter was all set to attend her water sports programme with the school after the summer when her new term starts and she is gutted to be missing out. I can’t believe the council would close such a vital outdoor learning centre. It needs to stay open so that kids can experience this wonderful place

This is a great place for the kids! Good experience and educational. It also gives the kids a chance to see the skate park which many of the school kids don't know about and inspire them even more to be active!

Outdoor pursuits were a huge part of my life growing up, and it would be a terrible shame to deprive future generations of these experiences

An important asset for children in a rural environment.
