Don’t close Carlingwark Outdoor Education Centre.

This is a much loved and much used facility by our children in Dumfries and Galloway and should be kept open!

Do not deprive the youngsters of this facility.

Our school has only just started to enjoybthe benefits of Carlingwark and the kids are loving it! Why shut somewhere that provides some children with only place they will get to experience these activities! If Carlingwark closes schools will be pushed to use conpanies outside of D&G, a cost most parents cannot afford and takes it away from our area! Children first???

Shockingly retrograde decision. The benefits of outdoor ed had been known for years so choosing to shut a key resource without any meaningful discussion with the community about ways in which it could be saved. It’s a disgrace. Please don’t hide behind sweeping statements of budgetary need and difficult decisions.

In these days of gamers for long term health benefits we need to encourage kids to get a taste of the great outdoors and associated pastimes. The centre fits the bill

Kids get so much from the experiences at Carlingwark. Too many cuts in the wrong places ☹️

My daughter sobbed when she heard this news. Our children’s education is hit with yet another council cut and with childhood obesity on the rise this should be the last service considered for closure. Disgraceful.

This is a fantastic place for children. No where else in the region like this.

I have so many great memories at the sail centre and if future generations don’t get it they will have missed so much

This place must not be closed. If the council close it there will be an uproar and it will go to ruin.

Local recreation places should never close

This is a fantastic resource for our region's young people. It would be a massive loss if it closed.

Closing the Carlingwark Outdoor facilities would be a huge loss not only to the people of Dumfries and Galloway but to others across Scotland who use it, particularly young people.

Many children who struggle in class at school excel here. It may be the only place they are ever seen to excel...

This education centre has benefited hundreds of children over the years,they've been able to experience activities that they may otherwise wouldn't have and these experiences are immeasurable in relation to building confidence and ability. To close this would be a great shame.
