Don’t close Carlingwark Outdoor Education Centre.

Don't close carlinwalk

Closure of this facility would not only deplete employment, training and outdoor / environmental learning & activities for our children but significantly reduce their essential: team building skills, independents interests, morals & ethics, enjoyable sports / activities. Education is necessity, this centre provides ongoing education in many aspects and allows disadvantaged children to engage in activities via schools thus reducing social isolation. Please reconsider the purpose for closure if no other outdoor activity centre of this kind will be reinstated/built for purpose.

Please look at making this facility a monet earner rather than closing it & selling off the asset.

A think there should be a petition to get the council out for wrecking pupils education and futures. First they get rid of support for kids with additional support needs . Cant get the teachers to teach the kids .kids are our future Who makes these awful decisions needs the sack . Use the wages of these people making these decisions to keep these bits open. To keep the additional support for children in classrooms etc. What will it be next? There is no future for the kids... good luck

Outdoor education is a key requirement in children's experiences

I had an amazing experience here 24 years ago when I visited on a school residential. My daughter loved it 2 years ago and my younger daughter and son can't wait to go.

This would be a devastating loss to the region.

A vital service for our young people. Do not close valuable services that make a real difference to our young people without exploring all other options first.

Don't take this away from the kids.

Disgraceful

This would be such a loss to our area. It provides a cheaper alternative to Lockerbie Manor and others like it. Keeping the costs within our own council makes it more affordable for parents, which allows more children to participate.

So what happens when there is nothing left for the kids to do. They will get bored and cause havoc. Give them the activities they love and show them a better way to channel there energy

If there are no services left maybe we can do without the council altogether!

Please don't shut this centre. There is so little for young people in the area and apart from outdoor activities, a very good youth club runs from this centre.

This facility is great for the young people to use.

This would be a tragic loss of brilliant educational resource, taking this facility away from the young people of our region would I think be a bad move in these days of fitness for life, these team building and life skills events should be encouraged and not closed down, shame on the council to see this as an easy target, and yet again forget about the future of our region.

Dont take this away from the kids.....

This has been such an important asset to the whole region and for all groups regardless of age and ability. D&G supposedly prides itself on promoting outdoor activities so where this fits in with it's "strategy" I have no idea. Letter to the council later, I would encourage all to do the same.

Our kids then our grandkids enjoyed and got a lot from this resource. Explanation please from council why this excellent resource is being targeted when enjoyed by kids in the future

Another cut to the youth of our region. Always complaining about them spending time in front of screens yet take away a resource that builds so many skills and confidence. What a waste
