Just had an amazing day orienteering with the outdoor learning centre and the students had the best day ever! Don't take this opportunity away from them!

Our next generation gain great awareness of the outdoors at this facility. It would be short sighted to close such a place. Don't.

I’ve never met a child that hasn’t had the time of their lives at Carlingwark, taking part part in activities they would never get to do on any other occasion. Fantastic social skills, outdoor learning, and always great fun! Would be a massive loss to education if this facility is closed.

The ones who will lose out the most are the kids who don't have money to go on expensive school trips.

The closure of this centre would have a huge negative impact on people right across D&G, in particular young people.

It is criminal to be closing places like Carlingwark down in these days of rising childhood obesity. For some children their visit here might be their only experience of exploring the great outdoors and learning that exercise is fun.

My 3 sons attended Darling warm when they were at school, great life experiences. Should not close. If councillors cut back on their expenses it could remain open!!!!!! Prioritise people........

Such experiences for our children in this age of technology, obesity and the need to build up children’s resilience is immeasurable. Many of this generation will never get this kind of experience and be missing out in so much!

Outdoor learning experiences are important for young people. Particularly for those who may not be able to have this experience due to challenging life circumstances

Shame to see such a great facility close. The young people of the region will suffer again especially those with additional learning needs

I remember my P7 school trip here and it really inspired me to take part in outdoor activities! Please don’t close down as so many children benefit from this centre.

This needs a rethink... the kids should NOT be suffering for adults mistakes, yes it’s tough to budget but once this resource is gone then it will never return and if we wanted it too it would 100x more expensive in the future - save this resource please!
