This fantastic resource needs to remain open. It's too great a loss for the children of Dumfries and Galloway.

There is very little for young people to do in this area, these are also the things that bring people to D &G.

My boys have used the facility through the school and enjoyed the experience. Being away from home but close enough in case anything happened. Would be such a shame to see a good, worthwhile facility close.

Too valuable a resource for some relief of the day to day classroom work. Skills just as relevant as academia.

It would be very sad to see this close. It has provided local children with a safe place to enjoy outdoor activities that they might not otherwise have the opportunity to do. Education isn’t just about a class room!

Outdoor education is essential for all abilities and ages. We have already lost so much in the past year, thus needs to be kept.

This is a shameful decision and is the opposite of inclusion. Thousands of pupils over the years have had their first residential experience at Stronord (sadly closed last year don't forget) or at Carlingwark. The service also provides non-residential courses, safety advice to schools, and supports the DofE Award with staff training - do councillors even know this? This service must not be lost.
