I went to the caf' when it was still a squatters' initiative in the early 1980s. It does a good job of catering for ordinary people in an expensive city, and should be listed, not closed!

it's very easy for an organisation to be undermined in this way. Don't allow selfish interests to scuttle the great place you have there

I recently had to give a talk on great, real public spaces and one of the first references I had was bonnington square, in no small part because of the cafe and centre. please don't close, you are so important!

This is a unique and entirely original centre and cafe whose food, events and company I have enjoyed over many years. To close it would be an act of carelessness for which future generations would feel quite rightly, a great sense of real loss. I share this sense of loss in a period where such assets are surely owned by the communities that use them, now and in the future.

That would be disastrous! I cooked at the Bonnington a number of years ago, with great success and for a very pleased crowd, who enjoyed vegetarian and vegan fare with a difference. I dare say, too, that the Americans about to move into the area as their embassy moves to Vauxhall, will LOVE it! Close at your peril!

A beautiful eclectic place full of heart and soul. Closing it would be a sad indictment on the warm community spirits it stands for.

Initiatives like this, by and for the people, are the true regeneration of London. Cold money can never create community.
