Don't ban roosters!! Endorse the rules and regulations already in place.

Roosters are an import and integral part of backyard chicken keeping. They are protectors of the flock and in the event a person wanted to hatch some eggs, the rooster is needed. Roosters can be loud and obnoxious. However, responsible chicken keepers should know to do whatever it takes to fix the problem if the crowing is disruptive to neighbors. They can be crated at night or relocated. But outlawing roosters isn't necessary to alleviate the problem. If necessary, enforcement of noise ordinances may be in order in the rare instant a rooster keeper does not act responsibly.

this should be something that is dealt with on a person to person basis. most people prefer the sound of a rooster to the sound of a dog. Roosters are great teaching tools for children and provide a means for more egg production which can be given to neighbors and friends right here in mobile. Hatching chicks is very educational for children and roosters are a part of the whole life cycle. The southern identity, even in our cities, is based off of self reliance, respect for family and property. What better way to pass on our southern traditions then to keep a blanket law off the books and allow individual neighborhoods and families to decide what is best for them?

Address the one problem owner (which in the case that caused this had already been done) rather than punish all of the considerate owners out there.

Please don't ban roosters. They just made it ok for 1 rooster per 10 hens this year and now we have someone already fighting it. Come on!!!
