Handle complaints one on one, through animal control. The ordinance was passed that roosters are allowed, do not let our council members take that away - especially since it hasn't gone through the proper channels.

Is the complaint related to noise? If so, every noise source should be banned. Why not just enforce the existing noise ordinance? The rooster's owner should be a good neighbor and either shelter the rooster in a soundproof location if the crowing is offensive to the neighbors.

The responsible backyard chicken owners in the City of Mobile should have the right to own, or continue to own a rooster; considering that our newly current permitting process says we can!
This current situation never went through Animal Control...My understanding is...it was a complaint that went straight to Bess Rich, then put on the City Council Agenda and here we are. The offending had long been removed (which was the right thing to do if it was in violation of the City's noise ordinance!
Please don Ban The Roosters because of an isolated incident. The results will impact the entire backyard chicken community! Please... SIGN THE PETITION! ...Have your friends sign it...anyone that cares about our rights to have a rooster.
I will say...if a rooster is violating the City's noise ordinance...then that needs to be handled on a one on one basis...not ban them citywide. If that be the case...we need to ban all the barking dogs and vehicles with loud thumping music! Thanks

I think they should be allowed and hold the owners responsible if the rooster violates noise ordinances.
