Today, there are million of stray dogs that roam astray on the bustling streets of our cities, and they are treated like pests- communities such as societies often chase them off, people are disgusted by their mere presence, and municipal organisations tend to treat them a demerit to society. In this, we often forget that these dogs have lives too, and that their lives matter. Oftentimes, their only source of food is when affluent people throw their leftovers at them, and when they scout through piles of rotten garbage. In the wake of COVID lockdowns, many are on the brink of starvation as well. We as a community must rise up and demand that this injustice is stopped, and that municipalities prioritise the wellbeing of stray dogs. Dog shelters must be built, and they must be fed properly. Dogs who are injured or may have diseases must be taken to government vet hospitals and stray dogs must be sterlized to control their population in a humane manner. Sign this petition today to indicate that you care, and you believe that dog lives do matter.
