Department of Education Mission Statement-
We serve our community by developing the academic achievement, character and social-emotional well-being of our students to the fullest potential. We work with partners, families and communities to ensure that all students reach their aspirations, from early learning through college, career and citizenship.
Community Concern:
As members of the North Shore community, we have a concern for the safety and well being of the children of Kahuku Elementary School and Kahuku High and Intermediate School. We feel that the Na Pua Makani wind farm is threatening the children’s safety and education. We ask that the DOE uphold their mission to work with the families and community with their concerns for their children. I request that the DOE address the concerns of our community pertaining to the industrial wind turbines proximity to Kahuku High School and Kahuku Elementary school and implement a safety plan and emergency evacuation in the event of wind turbine failure, blade throw and or fire. Remaining neutral will not protect the children of the North shore.

These are too big and too close. Too dangerous. They kill our Ope'ape'a and Pueo along with other Native birds. The windmills are not as green as you think. The trade off is not worth the well being of our children, schools, families, and communities. A'ole AES

I feel that these wind turbines are more destructive than it is beneficial. Like many other supposedly beneficial projects, the companies involved have not removed (demolition) the expired projects. This type of failure on government officials in partnership with these companies, are of no morals.

Please protect our keiki from the dangers and health risks associated with industrial wind turbines and also 5G towers. Do your research well including many case studies and law suits filed globally. Mahalo
