I really get fed up with phoning the reception when I really need to see my doctor and they say I have to wait 4 weeks I'm going through some very personal issues at present and I can't wait for 4 weeks so I ask for a phone appointment this sometimes does work for me

Waiting times for appointments are now ridiculous.

No good going to pharmacies (Tesco) for minor ailments (which is a good idea) because they say no its not that - when you know damn well it is.

I fully support this petittion. Appointment waiting times are now typically around 4-6 weeks which is simply not acceptable.

Without more doctors A&E will get worse as more people will go there instead of waiting for an appointment with the doctor.

Useless service at present. People can't even get a routine health check appointment even though they get a letter asking for them to make an appointment

I have managed to get an appointment on two occasions by queuing from 12.30pm for appointments released at 1pm. but if you need to see a specific doctor it is not so easy. The old system was ridiculous too as you had to wait over 3 weeks ! we need something better than this !

Think the system really needs to change... The sit and wait is just not practical in a town this size especially when young children are made to wait it's bad enough for adults but to see little ones suffering already and then having to wait hours to be seen is not on... Hopefully something will change for the better soon...

I work for the NHS and although can understand the issues for the Haverhill surgeries do not agree with the current system to get an appointment.

You can never get an appointment for the same week.

This is too true. I am tired of waiting for 2-3 hours on a Friday if I need to see a doctor. This shouldn't be easier than calling up to book one at a time that suits me.

The system of booking at 8 or 1 and finding all the appointments gone must add to anxiety when you are ill and need to see a doctor especially for the elderly who will just give up (or is this why it has been introduced - to stop people even trying to see a doctor - which will cost us all more in the long run

The system turns issues which are not urgent but need medical treatment into emergencies. How many people put off seeing the doctor because they can't get an appointment and will end up regretting it. People do need to do their bit too and stop clogging up spaces with stuff they can treat themselves at home.

The poor staff get moaned at when it isn't their fault. This system is ridiculous! You just can't get an appointment

Appointments never available with a doctor. I had my medication review done over the phone!

Earliest available routine appointment is 4wks & took me 3 days for an emergency appointment!! I agree there has to be something done, you can not even get children or the elderly as priority!!
