Written language should be taught as a support for the spoken, not a substitute.

Language is the basis of culture. If you lose the language you lose the culture as well as pride in your heritage. It should definitely be taught.

Im part irish, part scottish, and i've found it sad that if i wanted to get in touch with my family roots, i cant because gaelige is written all of it.

badly needs updating, I can speak french better than Irish as it was taught better than any Irish class I ever had.
Every teacher I had for Irish was well into her 50's and made it so boring
