I do want progress, not just an empty mill. But please, let's get something there that benefits the whole community, not just the developer. Family housing with some business units on the first floor. This is what many in the community have asked for.

Agreed! Lets get small business rolling in Johnson City. The first step. Giving them some space that is utilitarian and has quality access to patrons. Such as ETSU students, SW Neighborhoods, and downtown.

The value of the Tree Streets neighborhood will be diminished rather than enhanced with the building of an apartment complex on this historic boundary property.
As a one year homeowner a block off the South Roan boarder, I'm excited about the rejuvenation of the houses that border mine. I'm excited about the construction of a new single family home in the neighborhood. I'm excited about the addition of new restaurants on the State of Franklin perimeter. Having worked in historic preservation in Birmingham,AL in the 1970's, I am not excited about the addition of a large multi-unit apartment complex replacing this historic landmark.

B2 is the most appropriate zoning at this time because it's more central bussiness in reference to the growth of this corridor and the connection between downtown and ETSU and bussiness on the other side of ETSU
