I think the JP McManus Bridge would be a far better name, as it reflects the appreciation of a proud city of the work done down through the years of JP towards the betterment of Limerick. I have heard it said that someone has to be deceased before an item of public structure can be named after a certain person, but surely this can be changed.

Certainly should not call it JFK bridge. Like the suggestion of Kemmy bridge. JFK did nothing for Limerick. What is the fascination of JFK.. if you want to look to American Irish... how about Henry Ford.. his factory in Cork gave employement for quite a number of years.
