jp has done more for Limerick than anyone else its about time we respected this by naming the bridge after the great man

Here we have a certain Cllr who put forward this motion for the name change. Nobody wants the change only this Cllr who seem hell bend is getting it changed.He decribes the name change as been the proudest moment in his career, its says alot if this is his highlight after many years of service, it would be in his duty to serve the people better than to be wasting time on this motion!!

I think its a disgrace that the people who are meant to represent the ordinary people are wasting their time on matters that only benefit themselves. Get out there and do your job, fight for the people who have been affected by the floods, whose homes haves been ruined. You should be ashamed of your self, let the Shannon Bridge remain the Shannon Bridge!

It's comforting to know that Limerick city council are right on the pulse of the most pressing issues in the city. What a bunch of layabouts. The sooner this chief waster and his six cronies are removed from the council the better.

So this is what my tax money is going on?? Local politicians sitting around on their arse's trying to think up new names for our bridges?? Their are better things to be doing with your time like sorting out unemployment in the area, stopping the immigration of our young people.. It'a bout time they started doing the job they were paid to do!

I don't see why the bridge needs to be renamed at all. There are much more pressing matters in the city at the moment but if it is to be renamed, then name it after a Limerick person!

The Shannon Bridge is the last bridge before the Shannon river meets the sea, it was a tribute to an incredible river, the lifeblood of our city and hugely important to our country as the longest river on this Island. It is a mistake to change the name of this bridge, and the people of Limerick do nopt support this decision.
