Jfk is portrayed as an american icon because of mostly being a famous us president with irish heritage..he has so many things in america named after him to remind the us and world of his short lived reign in 'camelot'..as i remember he didnt really do much for the irish peoples as recognise he had irish heritage..you should not forget the real home irish 'noblemen' who lived in and loved Ireland and shared thier fortune to benefit the irish in his homeland so pkease dont fall for the false glamour of a man who reached the presidential office with his fathers hard work and connections to only be an adulterer and finally assasinated by the very people who put him in powrer...remember your countrymen thst helped your country..america wont let us forget.jfk and when time has past and all tjose involvef in the conspiracy of his death are dead n gone will jfk rest in peace with the truth..he was a good looking powrrful puppet that didnt do much for irekand othrr than his family left it to go to america to be a rich and famous us presidential pawn in thier own version of 'game of throwns'.

Just another stupid notion by the council to find a way to keep their jobs open. Leave the bridge name alone. It was fine as it was as Shannon Bridge. It would be more in their line if they concentrated on flood defences for the city and reducing that ridiculous 4 year time frame that's on it now!

JP McManus has done alot more for our town than jfk.. He has put millions through charities and fundraisers! Thats the problem with our goverment USELESS and no need of them for there rubbish decisions. JP MCMANUS DESERVES THIS WHO IS JFK WHAT DID HE EVER DO FOR US?? When my daughter is older she will only know him from been US president exactly what she will learn in school.
