It`s a disgrace to even consider naming the bridge, JFK Bridge, J.P. Mc Manus has done more for this City than all the politicians put together....

under no circumstances should this bridge be named after JFK just because he visited ireland we have jp mcmanus here long term and look at his achievements his donations to all charities his golf classic his sponsorship of sport in limerick

this is not an appropriate name for one of our most famous bridges.....it should be named after a local hero in limerick who gave up most of his time working with people preventing suicide.....john corbett of corbettsuicide prevention between the bridges of limerick

Whats wrong wit it bein called the Shannon Bridge?? It crosses the River Shannon nd also is on the way to Shannon town from Limerick City... If its not broke dont fix it...

JFK was a drug using, womanising, warmonger. It should be called Patrick O'Brien bridge as a timely reminder of how poor children can be so harshly treated.

All I have to say is that JFK has done nothing for Limerick City, lets me logical here look at the generousity of JP. McManus. He deserves recognition for what he has done in Limerick.

We already have a school named after JFK. This bridge should be called after the many Limerick Hero's of our proud city, Harris Bridge, Kate O' Brien Bridge, JP McManus Bridge. Practice what you preech Limerick Council & being proud of Limerick & it's hero's.
