McCarran Airport was named after Senator Pat McCarran in 1941 for his efforts in obtaining federal funding for the city to buy the field and construct a new terminal, as well as establishing a gunnery school by the United States Army Air Corps at the field. This airport has been instrumental in making Las Vegas a world-wide destination as well as the largest city in the state. KEEP THE ORIGINAL NAME FOR ONE WHO TRULY DESERVES THE HONOR FOR HIS CONTRIBUTIONS TO NEVADA AND THE U.S.A.!

DIRTY Harry Reid is an embarrassment to Nevadans. He used his entire career in politics......LYING to the voters and lining HIS OWN POCKETS and those of family members as well as close friends.....He talked alot of crap but SOLD his soul and morals to the devil for a few pieces of gold.

Harry Reid is not representative of the spirit of the Great State of Nevada. Leave the name as is.

Leave the name McCarran . Every time someone does something the name changes to fit the new person. This has got to stop. In the first place, the Nevadans now are most glad that Reid is out of office. The first reason why this is true is because he barley won his last election. After being in so long he should have won by a larger margin, he didn't. We don't want that man's name on anything the world will know us as.

The best choice is to leave the existing name in place as everyone is aware with it. Spending any money to change it for political reasons is wasteful and stupid.
