So, killing innocent creatures is the best they could come up with? Those traps are horrendously cruel and painful!

Trapping and euthanizing all the foxes - or even a number of them will not solve the problem - only add to other issues. You don’t know if you are killing qvhealthy fox so you need to find another way - do the “24 hour” rule times 10!! You are making Panic decisions, and they are usually the wrong ones.

Using science as your guide, calmer heads should prevail.
It is time to stop killing our keystone predator...the Eastern Coyote. This is a population problem and Coyote's job is to keep these and all other species in healthy balance. Rabies is almost unheard of in coyotes for a good reason.
I urge you to let this run out on its own...as it will, with or without the killing of healthy animals. People need to take the necessary precautions until it abates...and it will. Hysteria and radical "solutions" are not admirable, nor science based.
CRUCIAL...is to start educating the public about our new keystone predator and why we should not be feeding wildlife ! It has to stop and we need to let Nature strike the healthy balance as intended.
Non-stop feeding of birds, are attracting the skunk, raccoons and fox into urban areas and artificially increasing their numbers. High number concentrations of any species is an invite for infectious diseases...including humans.
EDUCATE and MANAGE BETTER. It's time...and this is the group to get it done ! Please. *Thank You*

Murdering the innocent is not a solution to mass hysteria. This is so thoughtless and cruel.

Please understand how important foxes are to the ecosystem. Keeping rodent population down should be one of the most important reasons.

Mass killing of foxes is just going to lead to a larger problem with small rodents later on. Do you want to be overrun with mice, rats and destructive red squirrels? That is what will happen if you kill off the foxes.

I just do not understand why when we humans have a problem with wild life the answer is kill? Please, do not kill the foxes. Please use Rabies bait. That will help skunks and raccoons too.

Trapping and euthanizing some portion of the Bath fox population will NOT rid the town of rabies. It is a feel good manuever that has little to do with science.

Fox are an important part of the maine ecosystem. It is inhuman to exterminate when non-lethal options exist.

Just a terrible plan, on many fronts. Foxes would not be the only animals to die.

Maine is quickly gaining a poor reputation Re how it treats wildlife. I’ll never vacation there again.
