In what right can humans interfere with the ecology of nature and decide what species live and what others don't? The ethics of wildlife management says: "And if an animal has rights, there are some things we may never do to it. In the case of wild animals, we should not kill, confine, or otherwise interfere in their lives. It is neither our right, nor our duty, to cull, nor in other ways to manage, wild animals. "

Killing foxes is not a scientifically realistic way to control rabies. Please consult wildlife biologists and disease ecologists about the most effective way to deal with this sort of disease outbreak before taking action. Foxes are a critical part of the ecosystem. Human have done things like this throughout history, eradicating a particular animal thinking it will control disease, and have always been wrong. It creates other issues and never stops the spread of disease. Be smarter!

Useless to try and live trap foxes. I set traps for lost dogs and a Fox will not go in a trap.

Killing animals to solve problems has never worked- you will only open up the territory for other foxes to move in, thus INCREASING your chance of rabies coming into the area. This is a band-aid PR move, not a move based on any sound science. Vaccinating and releasing has proven to be much more effective in other states. Bath will be wasting money on their current solution and will not see results.

This is not a solution. Killing off the fox is only going to destroy the food web and bring in more disease carrying rodents or ticks.

This is NOT the answer to the issue. This will create further issues.

I can't believe this is your solution to the problem! It's going to cause more problems. Why not distribute rabies pellets. Should have done that long ago.

Do not kill the foxes. Vaccinate them!

Trapping and killing as many fox as possible in an attempt to eradicate the current rabies situation will cause the death of many healthy fox. This "solution" will disturb the nature order of the remaining wild animals in the Bath area and only open up more potential health issues. Please seriously consider other options.

It would save many innocent animal's lives if you were to put vaccine treats around...why kill the innocent....

Please don't kill them, there has to be another way. The balance of nature is already off. Rodents will rise dramatically if you do this. This is how you get plagues.
