Do Not Close the Veterinary Services Disease Surveillance and Post Mortem facility in Inverness

To close this facility would be madness!

this provides a good professional service for the highland area and will be sorely missed if it closes

This unit runs an invaluable service to farmers and crofters from a huge area of Scotland. Without it we would have to travel over a 100 miles. I recently had bleeding nose syndrome in my calves and was using the service to test dead 14 calves over a period of a year.This would have been unthinkable had I had to travel the extra miles.

The Highlands and Islands are too big an area to be denied this valuable resource. It will eliminate the likelihood of any large animal post-mortems for crofters and farmers from a large part of this area being carried out due to pressures of finance and time .

This closure would work against the development of high quality food production in Scotland

A very important service which must be mentained

This is an essential service, which should be supported and increased, not diminished.

Listen to John Kinnairds recent comments. SRuC happy to quote Kinnaird when trying to get money from Inverness site - with no care to the outcome of their actions. Now Kinnaird saying "utter lunacy" to close Inverness. Suddenly SRUC not listening

An extremely short sighted proposal. Animal disease is one of the biggest threats crofters and farmers face. We need to increase surveillance, not cut it.

this is not acceptable, crofters have a difficult enough time without causing more problems for them.

This is too important a facility to lose just because re-organisation is occurring. The service it provides should not be related to a property move, but to the need for the area and the people who in turn, support the SAC. The tail should not wag the dog!

The lab provides a very useful service for animal health and welfare to the Highlands and Islands of Scotland. Whilst serology, biochemistry and haematology can be carried out at any lab in any location, post mortems cannot. Therefore I would request that the decision to close the SAC lab in Inverness is reconsidered and a lab kept open in Inverness

At a time when we are encouraged to increase surveillance of exotic disease, it must surely be a false move to close Inverness V I Centre.

This is an essential service helping livestock producers. The expertise should not be dissipated given the higher costs that will be incurred by farmers.

How is this going to affect the valuable work carried out at the SAC site in Inverness, particularly agriculture and marine mammals?

This is a vital service to the farming community-it would be a serious blow to loose this facility. Also very dangerous if there to be a disease outbreak

It's extremely important to keep the facility open so that work can continue on behalf of cetaceans and other marine life.
