I am signing this petition as I believe Inverness, as being the capital of the Highlands, and a hub for these very much used and necessary facility must be kept open.

we have had to use this service and I think it is vital to keep it going as the highlands is a vast area and Inverness is central for us as crofters

The postmortem and disease surveillance services offered by the vet lab are crucial for local farmers.

I know several people who work at vet services and also a number of farmers who rely on the service it provides. Farmers will be less willing to send their beasts to analyse why they died (hence providing valuable data for disease analysis in the agricultural community) if they have to travel to Thurso or Aberdeen.

This facility is very important for the farming community of the Highlands. not only does it serve as Disease Surveillance but also allows farmers/croftes to take dead livestock to Inverness for Post Mortem examination to establish cause of death and take remedial action where required.NO TEST FACILITY will cause more disease to go undetected. WE need this in the Highlands.
