Minister Hon. R Wayne Scott...........How Can you Dare to place Gilbert Institute in the brackets for closure?!?!?....Shame on you Sir!!!!....This is the ONE and ONLY School "ON" Island that makes sure it's infrastructure/curriculum deals with our beloved hearing impaired.......SHAME ON YOU :(........... I have traversed the playground at lunchtime to see our hearing impaired/deaf children, so able to interact with the other students that help in so many ways.....you have "NO" Clue what these children have learnt from the Teachers and individuals that have been trained with the hearing impaired!!!!......The able hearing students are so helpful to the ones that can't hear and even some can sign to them!!!!..... Your Slight of hand as a MINISTER OF EDUCATION(Leaves No Synergy at ALL for the Deaf/hearing Impaired!!!) ....and does not cut it with this Parent of TWO Children at Gilbert Institute and Many others........We "All" appreciate this Primary School that helps the hearing impaired and has the ability to help these children and many more to understand this disability.........please comprehend and please do not close this establishment for the hearing impaired down!!!!.....Principal Coralita Dill is very understanding for these individuals Minister Scott.....are You? R. Wayne Scott ?!?!?

I support the learning support program at this school, why close a school that provides great support for children of ADHD, ADD, and Hearing impaired needs. The children are our "FUTURE'.

Gilbert Institute is an awesome school! It has been known as that for a very long time, and it would be a shame if it closes. It would be a shame if any schools close. Govt. need to reevaluate all of this! They need to hear the people/parents! Education should be the last thing receiving cutbacks/closures - our children matter!!!!

Understand and appreciate position that Government finds itself in however, reading the recent report and findings, I am amazed that GI is one of the schools being considered for closing! There are a number of children who have benefited greatly by Gilbert providing education to children with hearing impaired challenges and the school has always demonstrated real community/grassroots spirit and support. Politicians need to reach out and speak to the parents and teachers of Gilbert Institute.
