just like tara said, students go to this school because it has a certain trade that appeals to them. this school needs to keep the students interested and motivated and to do that would be to keep the skilled trades that you would not learn at other schools

Instead of changing the greatness of a school, emulate it don't dilute it! Eastern is successful because of the combination of dedicated teachers AND students who WANT to be there. Our district schools are lacking and for many of us, magnet schools are our ONLY option! We NEED positive educational options for the Baltimore County RESIDENTS! For the TAX PAYERS of Baltimore County! Until we start taking accountability and cleaning house of our district schools, our magnet programs are a MUST! This school is a success, for DECADES, stop trying to fix what is not broken and focus on fixing the local schools that aren't SAFE for our children to attend!

The #1 ranked school in Baltimore County should not be dismantled in order to improve other county schools. Use Eastern Tech as a model for improvement elsewhere, but leave things as they are here!

To know how hard my son worked to make sure his grades were where they needed to be in order to be accepted into Eastern Technical High School program and to find out that this is even a possibility is extremely upsetting. He is so proud as am I and his father that his hard work rewarded him attendence into this school and to have that taken away would be heartbreaking. For parents who cannot afford private schools and still have an option to better our children's education is so very important and to know that this school will allow just anyone attend without the same drive and dedication to their educationis unacceptable.
