Do Not Approve Canon McMillan School District's Selective Redistricting

Residents in the Canon McMillan school district want the School Board to reconsider how to redistrict 50 students (K-3) within four (4) elementry schools which does not address the overcrowding issue long-term.
The current proposal results in:
* Students living on the same street attending different elementary schools
* Children being removed and added to the same school
* Children in the same household attending different elementary schools
* Children being bused to a school 10 minutes further away from their current
school
As parents, friends and neighbors of the affected children, we believe that this is a critical stage in their early educational development. Removing the children from their current schools on an individual basis will cause unnecessary stress, feeling like they are being singled out or punished which could ultimately impact their schoolwork. We want what is best for all of the children in the district - this proposal has 50 children 'taking one for the team'.
Do not approve the proposed redistricting recommendation.
