We as DLI employees need to get the same locality pay other employees in comparable entities enjoyed receiving for the last 20 years.

Back locality pay is due to civilian employees at the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center because it is determined that we have been in the San Francisco locality pay district since January 2001, and have not received our locality pay from Jan. 2001 through July 8, 2017. This is clearly a case of DISCRIMINATION because another military school right here in the same city of Monterey, the Naval Post Graduate School, has been receiving locality pay all these years. Why is the DLIFLC excluded from the same type of pay for the expensive living situation here?

I absolutely support the petition. The hardworking DLI faculty and staff deserve the same treatment as the civilian faculty at similar DOD academic intuitions. The government should pay back the locality during this period of time, especially, when only DLI FPS members were discriminatively singled out not to get the locality pay in the region.
