As owners and operators of the DJI Mavic Mini Drone platform, we make this request to SZ DJI Technology Co.Ltd. also known as Shenzhen DJI Sciences and Technologies Ltd.
We ask that a waypoint based package update is included within the Mavic Mini application, to allow owner/operators the ability to create and execute automated drone flight paths within a area map.
Currently owner/operators are reliant on 3rd party applications, which either don't work or are inefficient for correct drone operation. By including a native waypoint system, current users would not only benifit from the additional capabilities, but future drone owner/operators would be more inclined to purchase DJI products.

I have finalized a formal inquiry to the DJI software engineering department regarding the integration of a native waypoint system. We are waiting for a response from their technical lead to determine if this request can be included in the next firmware update cycle.

The reception of this request confirms that a native waypoint system is a critical requirement for the user community. I have finished drafting the formal proposal to be submitted to the DJI development team and will confirm the delivery method shortly.

It’s my go to drone where I don’t want to carry heavy camera and drone gear. But it still needs to be an effective drone. So please give us tools to make this drone even better thank you DJI.
Several lower priced drones have these features, and a majority of them are app or phone based. This was a major oversight and a disappointment for the price of the mini
Waypoints are needed urgently as they help in all sorts of scenarios and as mavic minindoesnt have follow me function hence waypoints can be annalternative
Please, this is something we want and the mini is more than capable of doing. Why cripple our hardware? You'll sell more with better features...
I really want this feature, I don't have money to buy one drone for only one things, my Mavic mini is a gift I never capable to buy myself

Native waypoint support is a MUST! It is very disappointing that DJI chose virtual stick method which I find completely useless. For this reason, I sold my Mavic Air 2 and I do not currently own or will own any DJI product until they decide to implement native waypoint support on their new drones. I was a loyal DJI customer since 2015 and their decision not to support native waypoints ruined it for me.
