District 102 LADSE Withdraw

LADSE is very important to our community to help support our children!

Please retain relationship with LADSE. They provide trained professionals with appropriate expertise so that the District doesn't have too.

We need LADSE!!!!!

LADSE has provided much needed support to many children and families in need. Not only educationally but emotionally supports and provides direction. LADSE helps children grow and be strong today. Without their support they are not given full opportunities they deserve just like any other child out there. Not only will we pay more for taxes but not given full access to the support our kids who needs this additional support. District 102 can not give 100% the same and it will takes years to give what is provided today! This is a disservice to the children and we should not withdraw from this extra support much needed.

Please give this further consideration, this does not seem like something the district could replace well internally

Please do not withdraw these services unless a thorough review reveals how you can continue to provide them through some other means. (Short answer: there is no better way.)

The petition addresses my many concerns about withdrawing from LADSE. They provide so many services for students and families, and I feel there isno way District 102 can do it on its own.

Please do not withdrawal from LADSE. The services they offer can NOT be brought in house and offer the same KINDS of services. LADSE staff are trained in all areas and bringing in an OT doesn't just provide OT they have so much more to offer and often times help with or are able to find help for other issues. This is a bad Idea and you WILL NOT be able to replace at the price tag you pay. SO much for asking for a referendum and then doing this.

Withdrawal of LADSE without a thorough and comprehensive assessment as outlined in the petition is not only a huge disservice to the children and families LADSE serves, but inconsistent with the stated District Goals of providing access to programs and services that have demonstrated success in promoting student achievement, growth and social/emotional development.

I have a special needs child that has benefitted from the support LADSE has give staff at Ogden. This would be a great disservice to the community and the teachers that support these kids!!!

Cutting the students who need the support because of finances is literally drowning them and not giving them a chance. I also voted for the extra tax to support our schools for this very reason. Please reconcider.

It is incumbent upon the Board to conduct a comprehensive cost study to determine the wisdom of continuing to use the services of LADSE or switch to self-funding. All incremental costs must be included in the study. We do not want to end up paying more than what we have today or sacrificing quality education of those disabled.

Concerned that the monies from the recent referendum are used wisely. Has any district other than Hinsdale gone through a similar scenario? I have heard only positive comments about LADSE, Why are we fixing something that's not broken and may end up costing more?

LADSE is a critical and extremely important program that as a parent am very proud to which to have access. Removing such experts in the field from our reach would not be in the best interest of our children to be happy, get an education and be proud and productive members of society. To withdrawal from LADSE is an enormous error in judgement. It is not worth any cost savings that may seem to appear on the surface. It will costs us all much much more -not only financially- if we don't continue with the wonderful people at LADSE.

I do believe this needs to be considered carefully. Withdrawal sounds like potentially higher taxes for us all and less services for the kids who need it. Doesn't make sense to me.

As a parent of two children who have each received services from LADSE, I encourage D102 to strongly review all the options and hopefully see that continuing as a LADSE member is the best option for our children. My autistic high school son still receives LADSE services (including a special ed bus) that are invaluable to his experience at LT. Continuity is important for the kids coming up behind him through D102 and on to D204.

Please delay withdrawl from LADSE until a complete financial analysis is presented AND the District can demonstrate the quality of services for the most vulnerable children will not be compromised.

Please don't do that. I am now 32 years old. I attended Cossitt , Ogden and Park Jr. High School. LASDE had a huge impact o my school experience. LASDE is such a wonderful pogram. LASDE NEEDS TO STAY .

For those of us that can attest to this agency, it's service, teachers, and successes- LADSE is much needed in District 102 !!!

I strongly request that this issue is examined in the public for at least another six months.
