My daughter uses LADSE for her vision impairment and benefits from it greatly. Would be such a shame for all the families using this to have it removed from the district.

My nephew is in this program and he is progressing each day because of it! It would be an extreme disservice to students and their families to dissolve this program. All teachers are trained to teach but there will always be students who need a little more or something specialized and for that you need those who are trained in the area. I do not believe school districts should govern programs such as these.

My kid has been in the ladse program since she was in preschool it helps these children and gives them advantages to not fall behind I strongly suggest you don't get rid of it or I'm leaving this district

LADSE has helped my child with a disability and has been able to access resources more than the school. They are comprehensive which the school has been unable to do.

They are not using the autism consultation services because they are hiring a friend of the assistant superintendent of special-education; and who has a limited background in autism with no degree in developmental psychology. This is what happens when services are contracted out. There is neither quality nor cost control.

LADSE is a tremendous asset to our school district and community. I believe it would be incredibly misguided and financially detrimental to the district to cut ties with such an important and successful facet of our special education services.

I lived through the pull out of LADSE from 86. Worst decision ever. My kids were served by WAY less quality Speech and Occupational Therapist. They had no plan and our taxes continued to increase. LADSE helped explain our kids delays and how they impacted his classroom success. No one hired at the school could do half the job LADSE has done.

An assessment of services and finances as outlined in this petition should be completed before a vote is taken by the Board of Ed. This assessment should be available to be seen by all District 102 taxpayers in a transparent and easily accessible form. As a community, many of us are not willing to risk the repercussions to our children that a premature withdrawal of LADSE will produce. Our children not only depend on the services and quality of care, but on the certain individuals that LADSE has provided support for and helped to train. Students have learned to depend on these individuals to help them through their school day--every day, and a change in staff or services could be devastating to these students.
