Remember, distracted driving is anything that takes your eyes off the road, not just cellphones

As a public safety worker on the highways, I clean up crashes and the effects of distracted driving daily. It's an epidemic of severe proportions. I've held a child's partially severed nose back on their head while the family is panicking -- I've pulled people from cars swerved off the road from reckless and distracted driving. I've seen so much, and I wish I could help prevent these problems from happening. I sincerely hope that this petition goes forward.

The Senate passed the Bill restricting the use of hand-held devices in 2017. What's Speaker De Leo doing with it now??

I agree... We need to stop the texting. Cars should install a device that monitors for texting. If a person is physically texting the car will not start until texting its turned off. or maybe a device that allows the texting to not work during driving. Forcing the person to pull over and stop if there's something that important to text.

It is not the legislature to blame. I understand it is DeLeo who will not bring the bill up for a vote. because HE has an issue with the bill !

My son was killed on August 5, 2017 due to a 17 year old using SnapChat while driving. The 17 year old crossed over the center line and hit my son head-on. He did not deserve to die this way leaving a wife and child. The 17 year old also died a couple days later. If phones can follow us using GPS they can also know how fast we are driving. They should shut down if you are traveling at an excess speed no matter if you are driving or a passenger. It is not SAFE. HELP

I LOVE THE IDEA/DEVICE that allows Police to check your phone what you were doing if in accident or moving violation. PA Governor Tom Wolf should sign into law immediately since PA already has law against text and driving.

My husband and I see far too many distracted and swerving drivers on the road...they are all using or looking at their cell phone. My husband believes there should be a (automatic) way to disable certain phone features when your car is started.

If Waze can disable typing while driving,
all other apps, social media should also.

This was a very interesting class. It taught me things about my driving i wasn't aware of. All the instructers were great especially the older gentlemen, who made me feel so comfortable and all the support was awesome. I would really recommend this training to anyone who hasn't had it yet. Thanks guys keep up the good work.
