I walk along roads with no sidewalks. Frequently, I must step to my left, as a car begins to drift toward me; the drivers often have a phone at their ear, or in one hand as they steer. I cannot enjoy the walk, the trees or the sky...I must watch for the distraced driver who may kill me.

All forms of communications while driving needs to be eliminated incl "hands free" calls. I've been rear ended 3x by cell phone users incl 1 hands free cell phone user. Even hands free callers are focused on their conversations and not their surroundings in traffic.

EVERY ONE of the social media apps needs to implement WAZE's "typing disabled while driving" feature. That would be a good first step toward eliminating what has become a life endangering epidemic!

Social media usage while driving is just as dangerous as drunk driving if not more dangerous!! Please pass laws to make this a felony so people take it seriously!!

There is no excuse for using social media while driving. I wish this petition would also go after the car companies for installing infotainment systems in cars--where they don't belong.

Yes, please!! Anything we can do to remind people to be safer behind the wheel (and stay off phones!) should be done.

Heartbreaking that we have to lose loved ones in order to raise awareness. You wouldn't put a blindfold on and drive. Awareness around distracted driving is something we all need to commit to!

My sister and her best friend were murdered by a 21 year old driver that was posing for a selfie that her passenger was taking. The killers ran into the back of my sisters stopped car at 76 MPH only because the killers chose to disregard the safety of others.

I lost my 18 year old son to an imparied driver. It was an avoidable crash that did not have to happen just like distracted driving crashes do not need to happen! We must pull together as a community to make our voices heard. Much love!
