On May 17-19, 2018 the National Museum of the U.S.A.F. will be hosting the ribbon-cutting for the completion of the restoration of the famous Memphis Belle, the aircraft which carried the first crew from the 91st Bomb Group to complete its tour of duty.

A large event with reenactors and various activities is scheduled for May 17-19, including the fly-in of two other B-17 Flying Fortresses.

The Shoo Shoo Shoo Baby, another B-17 from the 91st Bomb Group, which has been on display at the museum for over a decade, will be moving to the Smithsonian at a date to be determined. In the meantime, she will be placed inside the restoration hanger to prepare for the move.

The goal of this petition is simple. We would like the NMUSAF to display the Shoo Shoo Shoo Baby on the flight line, beside her sister ships, Yankee Lady and Alluminum Overcast, which are being flown in for static display, for the Memphis Belle ribbon-cutting event in May.

Shoo Shoo Shoo Baby has been a main attraction in the museum for years, and this would be a fair and proper send off for the aircraft. Like the Memphis Belle, she also is a combat veteran of the 91st Bomb Group. She and the Belle are the only two state-side restored B-17s that saw combat.

Please don’t allow a massive missed opportunity, by hiding this historical and important aircraft in a hanger during this event dedicated to her sister ship, the Belle. We would all love to see her one last time.
