Let the Zielsdorf Family Stay !!!!

I grew up in Laggan. The local shop has always been really important to the community. The Zielsdorphs are hard working and enterprising and deserve to stay in this country.

I hope the home office wakes up and sees sense. The community needs people committed and involved in supporting and developing that community, this family sound like those people.

Can the Highlands afford to lose this community minded family? NO

Laggan is a community in urgent need of new impetus and interest. This family has clearly shown their long-term commitment to be a part of its development and it should be endorsed not hampered!

Sounds like this is a case where the Home Office needs to be more flexible and consider the needs of the community and value the contributions of this family business. Bravo for the Zielsdorfs! Wish them success.

They mustn't go from Laggan - a wee village shop and the only one for miles around and I mean miles!! The village needs them and look what an asset they are to the community as well as Scotland in wider circles. THEY MUST STAY - THEY NEED TO STAY.

This family are contributing positively to the local area and it is madness to deport them. Hopefully common sense will prevail. It doesn't seem fair either that the rule changes came into effect after they had already 'signed up' and moved their lives half way round the world.

This family has more to offer our community than many who are native to the country

This is so important that this family stays on, they have brought so much to the area and community! Absolutely a disgrace that they're being told to return to return to Canada when Laggan is their home!

Please consider that you are not just hurting this family, but the community that they are serving.

Britain needs families like this

As productive members of the community, of course they should be allowed to stay. Their case for visa renewal should be reviewed and an exception should be made in this case. We shouldn't treat Commonwealth citizens like this.

They've done an amazing job to restore the shop. It would be a shame to see it closed down again as its my closest shop for 15 miles

These are hard working people, if they are not allowed to stay it makes it so disgusting that criminals, sponges and the like are here as long as they want!

Please let them stay. They have done a lot for the community.

I lived in Laggan and had the pleasure of getting to know this lovely family. They have contributed so much to the community in so many ways: Purchasing the local store (which was threatened with permanent closure) a much needed amenity to the local people. The nearest shop being a 16 mile round journey. They have been a tower of support to local people young and old. Giving up so much of their time for others. Valued members of the church congregation too. I can not believe that they are being deported. Laggan is a small village that badly needs families especially ones that are supportive to others. Facilities at the current time are just the shop they have purchased and a School. Houses lay empty because of the lack of facilities and having no public transport. So how can you deny this family the right to stay. How could they possibly have employed 2 members of full time staff in a small village store. I would point out that during the refurbishment of the shop they did provide work for local tradesmen. I do not believe the rules should be the same for a family trying to set up in a very small village.

Having continuously contributed to the Scottish economy, they have a right to stay!!!

Having lived in a small Australian community, one becomes accutely aware of the value of people who contribute, irrespective of where they come from. This should never be a criteria of judgement, if they contribute they add value, if they employ others no matter how few or many their worth is multiplied untold. Maybe a few beaucrats should live in a small community for a while and then they might comprehend the magnitude of what the Zieldorfs are providing. They pay taxes, contribut VAT and save social security, how many bureaucrats do that? The Zeilsdorfs should be welcomed and given every opportunity to make Laggan their new home..... for as long as they wish. I wish you the very best
