This is our local shop...an important part of the community. In this rural area employing anyone in Winter is hard the Home Office need to re think this one.

Village communities need village shops. It's not just about milk - a village shop helps with alleviating isolation and community cohesion. This family is going a huge service to the local community by running the shop. Let them stay.

This family should be allowed to stay. They provide the only shop in the village and are nothing but an asset to the village.

I live in Laggan and without this family running our local shop many, especially elderly people with no transport, will struggle and the community will have no focal point. The nearest other shops for basic provisions are a 16 mile round trip away, as is the nearest bus stop and railway station. Laggan was
where Monarch of the Glen was filmed and many tourists visit here and love the little coffee shop that the Zielsdorfs opened alongside the shop. they are self supporting andprovide a job for a local person - but to expect them to provide 2 full time jobs which was what the Home Office were insisting on, in a village this size is completely unrealistic. surely there must be some decent people at the Home Office and some discretion. it is not just this family, one local person will also loose a job and the village will suffer.

This seems very harsh. I have heard Mr Zielsdorf on Today and he sounds a very decent fellow. A friend in Scotland says they are a real asset to the community.

It is outrageous that a decent hard-working family that contributes directly to their community and takes nothing from the country should be facing deportation on a technicality. It is a betrayal of an entire community leaving everyone a loser.
