I need to know what will happen if I stop paying POA dues. They tried to sell my property several times while I was on active duty and missed tax payments but POA knew my address to send POA dues at all times.

I own three lots in the Baca, which means I am forced to pay three separate dues. Yet I have only one membership. Nothing that the POA does improves my property.

In my opinion, the Baca POA is the overwhelming reason property values are stagnant in the Baca. No one wants to invest in building a home to live under the thumb of unpredictable busybodies with their lawyers. County taxes on Baca lots are absurdly high, and paying the Baca POA to provide services we are already taxed for by the county is ridiculous.

I bought lots in the Baca Grande Grants in 1971 for $6300. My lots have never been built on as the Baca Grande Corporation folded and our property values have stagnated. I live in Huntsville, AL and receive no value for the POA dues I'm assessed each year.

What was once a dream for us now a nightmare. Been paying too much for over 20 years and never actually seeing one real benefit. The organization tries to enact and enforce too many stupid rules for anyone to truly want to live there. I believe there is a racket going on withe realtors in the area. The only properties that ever sell belong to the realtors who have stolen it from the real owners. They pretend to list and show your property, all the while just sitting on it so they can offer you pennies after you get frustrated.

I am happy this subject is coming to the surface. We've owned bare land at Casita Park since 1999 & wondered why we had to pay such a large amount for what we have. We just visited last week and it looks exactly the same as it did 5 years ago.

I know people have all these reasons why we need to keep the poa. I've lived here for over 15 years and the only thing I can see that they really do is fix tires and clear the snow off the roads from time to time. Surely we could find others in our community to help us while supporting them with work. I believe they are crooks. Always have. It is pretty much common knowledge. The only way for a sustainable Crestone is to make them gone. It would be a dream of ours to have them gone. I sure hope this works so we can begin on a good road here for the future. They are nothing but a pain in our asses!!! Ha ha.

The POA has illegally endangered the environment and has lost lawsuits filed by my dad stating that fact. It is a corrupt and needless organization that has caused far more harm than good in the community for the benefit of those running the organization. Abolish this corrupt waste of money now and make the Baca a place that's affordable enough to live in.

People want to be able to build smaller homes. Let's be a part of the Town of Crestone. Owners who do not live here, and who extract huge rents should not have such a large say as to what happens here.

The Poa should not create fear among its members. Neighbors complaints against neighbors should be public and mediated by a third party. If greenhouses are an issue for some board members than why aren't liquor stores an issue too ? Originally the POA land was intended as a home for veterans. Was there any knowledge of PTSD and other secondary effects of war on this population and the necessary services that the vets might need in order to lead a "normal" life ? How many vets do we have suffering in the BACA now without services?

The POA has been a joke (and not a funny one) ever since I've lived here over 7 years. The cost of water is ridiculously high and the junk that Denver has been dumping into to it is leaving a black residue that scares the hell out me to where I don't drink it any more. I wish I could sign this petition twice. The sooner disbanded the better!!!!
