There should have been consultation with parents and the community before this decision was made, however, the new school should include OMM as a feeder school into the high school. It doesn't have to close. I'm sure this is purely a financial decision. Shame!

Great example of the lack of communication and consideration by this Diocese. What is the objection to serving poorer communities??? Shameful, again.

Town hall is the least they should provide. Seriously, I am not surprised at their actions.

I am very unhappy of the sudden decision of OMM being closed. My grandmother, spouse, children and now grandchild has attended OMM and what an impact it made in their education. I think it was unfair not giving us a least a year to prepare for the sudden change. Also, people are more pron to pay for education for younger children than high school age. I will miss the love and one on one that my grandchild will receive from OMM. I still feel as though its a slap in our face and I children don't matter based on the decision that was made.

You show direct disrespect for the Parish history and present day parents and kids. As usual, it is all about preying on the less than affluent. The ALMIGHTY $$$

This school has been around for so long. I know you may say close it because there are not many students. It is not about quantity. It is about serving All communities of Fort Worth. Once again it appears our black brothers and sister have to be the ones to sacrifice.

I am 46 aND since I've been alive mercy has been part of my close family and friends lives. Please leave mercy like it is. It has been t he heartbeat of South fort wort for a long time. And the way everyone including the teachers found out was very disappointing . .

Wonderful school that gave us a foundation of academics & faith. I believe a great solution may be to combine the entire school K-12. The Jesuits could do this in conjunction with the Diocese (deep pockets). The name Our Mother of Mercy will not die with the high school but the children K-8 will miss out. I understand that enrollment is horrible but it will do better with Jesuit influence and their ability to recruit & build a strong school. So, I vote to keep OMM & let's make one big family of k-12 or 3-12!!

Our Mother of Mercy has stood as a light within the Historic Southside community since it's very beginning. The teachers, administration and parish community have taken seriously the mission to educateyoung minds within the community and send them out into the world as individuals formed in the Spirit and guided by truth. Please reconsider the closing of Our Morher of Mercy Catholic School.
