Dick Allen is arguably the most God gifted talent to ever play pro baseball. Not only was Allen the games most feared power hitter from 1964 to 1974, playing in the dead ball era. Allens homeruns were marvels to be seen. He could run as well as anyone who ever played. Allen was also a great baseball mind, he was smart and knew the game. He was a great team mate, he took time with people. He took time with younger players like Rich Gossage and Mike Schmidt. I am 53, I have watched since 1972, and I can tell you no one hit the ball harder and farther than Dick Allen. This includes all the steroid boys, Allen was a God gifted powerhouse. The 42oz bat, all natural power, no steroids needed Allen hit them harder and farther than anyone. I saw them all play.

I have meet Dick Allen several times. My brother worked on the Phillies Groundcrew and through him I was able to meet Dick Allen. He is one of the nicest gentleman I have ever have been in the company of. You would never know that he was a Superstar back in the day.

Dick Allen should absolutely be in the Hall...the Wampum Walloper! He was one of the premier power hitters in the 2nd dead ball era of the 1960's. NL ROY '64, AL MVP '72 (just missed Triple Crown with CHISOX) and 7x All Star. Considered by many baseball historians to be one of the top four long ball crushers of all time (Ruth, Foxx, Mantle and Allen). He overcame extreme harassment in minor league ball in Little Rock Ark and rough treatment by Philly fans during the racial turmoil of the 60's. Willie Mays was quoted as Allen hitting the ball harder than anyone he ever saw. Anyone who saw one of his titanic shots leave Connie Mack Stadium will never forget him. Get him in the hall already!!!

If ever there was a wrong that needed to right this would be near the too of the list. Dick Allen not only earned entry into the Hall but he deserves it as well. What happened with the vote is a disgrace and someone who is the position to do something about needs to step up to plate and make this right. The HOF needs Dick Allen inducted to be considered fair and just. If a boycott of the HOF is needed to right this wrong then it should be considered. Dick Allen = HOF !!!
