I have always believed that if a player can't be voted in during his initial years of eligibility, he shouldn't get in. Allen is the exception because I believe his "relationship" with the media was tainted. I've seen and read enough to believe he should be in.

We, as a society tried to discourage tried to destroy Dick Allen back in the 60's and 70's because he was black. We blamed his reaction to inhumane racism as radicle ANGER on his part. He overcame the hatred with dignity and grace and proved himself to be a hero, a legend the most outstanding player my generation had ever seen. Shame on Cooperstown for punishing the athelete. What they have done is confirm the racism and condemnded the player. Dick Allen deserves to be in the Hall of Fame.

Frogy- I'm all for Dick getting into the HOF, but to call him the second greatest home run hitter is not going to help your cause. No one is going to believe you. I known Jenkinson believes that, and his Babe Ruth book was good, but his Power book was not so good. Lots of hype and stretching for points. Just be honest and it will be better for everyone.
