The Most Powerful Hitters I ever saw and belive me I have seen quite a few. Mays, Mantle, McCovey , Stargell and Johnny Bench. Dick or back in my day Richie Allen was not only a great power Hitter but also a well rounded player. He was a five tool player. He faced much adversity but he still produced when others may have quit. If he isn't a Hall Of Famer, then there shouldn't be one.

165 OPS+ over a ten year period. That ranked him first, ahead of 17 Future Hall of Famers. This ONE STAT ALONE, should qualify Mr. ALLEN as a Hall Of Famer.

A few years back Bill James came up with a preformance measuremtn called Win Shares. If memory serves me correctly, Allen had more win shares than any one else from 1964 to the end of his career. Am on the road and don't have the book, but y'all could verify that with research. I believe Allen was the Jim Rice of his time. Not sure how it's possible that George Kelly and Ross Youngs could have gone in, and not Allen or Trammell.

Dick Allen was one of Baseball's all-time sluggers, in a difficult social era. He was the NL Rookie of the Year, and the American League MVP in 1972. He is a proud man, but nevertheless, very deserving. He was the type of player you listened for every pitch, every at bat. I am sure if he played today, no one could leave the room during his at-bat. Please give Mr. Allen your utmost consideration, and then vote him into the Venerable Holl of Fame, where he belongs. Thank you.
