Develop Historic Broadway NOT wastefully widen the roadway

I think we should move away from inviting more cars into neighborhoods but instead focus on making the Broadway part of Tucson more bicycle and pedestrian friendly. Build Tucson for the people not for cars. This plan is so outdated and lagging behind the rest of the world trying to move away from fossil fuels. There are so many reasons why this should not happen. Why not spend the money on helping to get the traffic onto the freeway and outskirts of Tucson, leading it away from the urban areas. It's the 21st century. Let's move forward not backward.

I think this proposed plan goes well beyond the compromise plan reached in 2015. I think instead of widening Broad way for traffic with little net gain in traffic efficiency, we should focus on walkability and ADA compliance. Disabled people are often forced into the street because of crumbling or inaccessible sidewalks.

Please consider what is being proposed here as a Mad Max future wish, in view of possibilities/priorities for direction in this case of a land/citizen-based CORPORATION, City of Tucson. We really should be able to do better for local cultural and economic development.

Every time I drove this stretch of road,the traffic isn't bad at all. This includes during rush hours, nights, weekends, etc. This proposed new plan is again a waste if time and money. Typical actions by a city council who isn't listening to the citizens. The money would be better invested in rehabilitation of the empty hotel downtown.

This project would really damage the heart of Tucson and take away part of its uniqueness. Adding bus pull outs, other traffic fixes would work better.

I personally feel that this attempt to widen Broadway is being driven by the interests of the developers (who stand to gain financially from this) and NOT the citizens, residents, and taxpayers of the city of Tucson (who stand to do nothing but lose). I personally feel that this is an outrageous waste of money and is NOT in the best interest for those that live along the corridor, and for the quality of life that it will affect, in general. I would urge the City Council to NOT go ahead with these plans at this date. I live near the corridor in question, use Broadway Blvd. frequently (especially in the corridor in question), and DO NOT see any need to widen Broadway at this time. My observation is that this is premature and potentially unnecessary use of resources that could be used in a wiser way.

I work in a building within the widening plan, and do not wish to see the road widened more. We need something done to Broadway, but why not make it more appealing and usable to everyone instead of widening it into a superhighway?

There are many ways to improve accessibility and encourage business growth in an area. Widening roads encourages traffic to move past businesses without stopping. It may seem like a good way to 'grow' Tucson, but please look for evidence to support the theory before spending huge amounts of money, damaging the trust of the community, and demolishing buildings that cannot be rebuilt without a substantial investment that may not exist.

Do not widen Broadway.

I oppose this project. Let's use rational evidence-based decision making. This project makes no sense. Value for Money is missing, big time.

No more wasteful projects. We need more public transportation not more cars on the roads. We need attractive neighbourhoods not freeways

Demolishing to widen????Why waste our resources?

We need to design to reduce transport need, not to increase traffic. If you vote for this, you are one of those Climate Dismissers - someone who believes that our grandchildren are going to have a real problem with climate change.... Which is no better than denying it exists at all.

A much better use of these precious millions would be to extend the street car along East Broadway, benefiting residents, businesses and the future of Tucson. Then, extend it to the South side.

just wish the busstopscouldbe alittle cleaner with more food and vending machines available to use.

Mayor and Council Members, please stand up for a future sustainable vision of Broadway and don't fold to the old cronies of government and development who believe wider roads for fossil fueled vehicles are the answer.

Broadway is not a road in Tucson that needs to be widened.

I agree this is a misuse of public money and those funds can be better spent in more useful ways

Please do not widen Broadway without seriously considering the more updated plans created through thoughtful community input.
