Develop Historic Broadway NOT wastefully widen the roadway

Public transportation, please.

No More Construction at all! Is that all we know how to do? And who's making all the constriction money? We LIKE what's left of our unique old Tucson. Downtown is a mess. the neighborhood road 'improvements' are unnecessary and dangerous. Give us a break from construction obstruction! STOP IT!

So many roads around town need repaving. Need to take care of what we have before moving on to more roads or wider roads!

Keep Broadway as it is. Do not try to fix what is not broken.

Two comments: 1. Under the new city alignment, demolition of historic buildings is triple what was agreed to earlier. 2. As the analysis by Les Pierce shows, there is no speed benefit to widening the road. Why are we doing this?

Those who are taking the lead in developing the Tucson downtown area seem to be blind to how poorly the transit in the area is already. The very LAST thing we need is any MORE lanes of traffic emptying into the two narrow lanes that go through downtown. Those of us who live downtown are struck daily by the poor planning.....please let us not widen Broadway, and please let us stop demolishing buildings and businesses. Highways through town are NOT NEEDED. Just take a look at Grant. Is that really what we want Tucson to look like?

With so many higher priority road projects , Broadway widening is unnecessary at this time.

The future of a healthy & vibrant community depends on the smart choices we make today--to my mind, that includes thinking beyond the car as a means of transportation.

The bureaucracy seems stuck in the last century. We should be past spending the public's money to help grease the pockets of land speculators on the periphery of the city, especially since there are few signs of congestion on Broadway.

What we should be spending that money on is a better mass transit. We need to have our buses running far more frequently in both E/W and N/S directions (or better yet.... a solar powered streetcar that serves the entire city). Until we make our mass transit truly workable for everyone, we are not going to be able to get people out of their cars. I agree, we cannot keep spending our $$$$$$$ on outdated ideas about transportation.

We have enough stinking Walgreens and Pizza Huts. Keep Tucson distinctive.

We need to look at other ways.

Broadway should be developed into a a true bike thorough fare with a safe bike lane barrier that is divided from regular traffic-this bike lane can be a true bike lane all the way to Houghton Road and hooks into the Rita Ranch Road /Vail area that would be a truly bike friendly city development and one that would change our city dramatically for the better. We don't need obsolete expansion of Broadway for more Vehicular traffic.

Yes, let's please use the money that would be used to widen Broadway just east just east of the downtown to repair existing roadways in all corners of town. If Broadway upgrades are designated, please consider dedicated bicycle lanes in that area, which probably wouldn't require any of the extensive widening currently being proposed.

It seems totally unnecessary to widen Broadway. This was planned many years ago and. Think we know better nowadays about preserving period architecture and not letting our cars dictate how we live.

We need more pedestrian friendly streets, bike paths, and money spent on improving flow into and through downtown (currently a nightmare).

The city of Tucson doesn't acknowledge that we can't continue to rezone and widen our way to prosperity. Worse, we have lost our representative government in Tucson. Welcome to the world of factions as James Madison would perceive the continuing love affair between the city and development complex.

This is not the way to solve the east/west traffic situation.
