Develop Historic Broadway NOT wastefully widen the roadway

Please keep historic Tucson vibrant As a former resident of Tucson who fought in the past to save the historic communities of Tucson, please reconsider this very poor planning and waste of resources I plan to retire in Tucson but will easily reconsider if it is turned into another Phoenix

This widening is not necessary based on the traffic

Adding more lanes of traffic does not alleviate traffic, it brings more traffic.

The studies are clear - widening does not improve traffic. Encouraging other modes of transportation does. There are many other improvements that could be achieved with that amount of money.

What a shame to destroy so much and widen Broadway when there are so many other projects that are more needed. Please stop.

We need better light timing not wider roads. I agree traffic is a mess in that part of the city, but it has more to do with traffic light timing and the bottleneck at downtown than the width of the roadway.

This is a wasteful, unnecessary plan is that is going to line someone's pockets while destroying more Tucson history and ambience and displacing small businesses. It doesn't fulfill any kind of public benefit!!!

I'd rather see this $74M used toward completing the Aviation Parkway, from Broadway to I-10. In 1998, then Mayor Lew Murphy predicted that commuters using Aviation to reach downtown will find a bottleneck as they hit Broadway, just east of the underpass. "It's going to be a disaster down there." (So right he was!)

Please do not let this project go forward. It is not what was presented upon last year.

I see no reason for widening Broadway (or Grant, for that matter). Money would be much better spent on improving public transportation

This money can be better spent in a number of different ways.

There are ever so many worthy projects where this money could be used, starting with repair of the rattlesnake bridge (and that's just a blimp on the screen of projects that are needed).

If you build it they will come. And it will just need to be wider and wider. Why not focus on public transportation and bikes, and set a different example?

Historical interests in the Old Pueblo need to be a priority above roadway expansion. There are several routes into the down town area that can help to accommodate traffic.
