Develop Historic Broadway NOT wastefully widen the roadway

Please use common sense to improve Broadway -- don't spend money to widen it!

The only way this plan could be useful is if the additional lane is for bus traffic only as part of a rapid transit system. If not the project should not move forward.

There's no evidence that road widening improves travel times. Improve your public transportation, bike lanes, and resources for bikers at the workplace so that they don't have to worry about showing up to work sweaty.

Broadway is a wonderful street that is plenty wide, so please do not demolish the corridor's historic fabric. Beautification and traffic calming are what's needed most.

Traffic on Broadway is not like old-school Grant Road. A widened road, or mini-highway, will lead to further separation of neighborhoods on either side of it, potentially widening not only the road, but class divisions. Other cities around the world are developing downtowns and satellite commercial neighborhoods as fun, funky spaces where communities come together. None achieve this level of cohesion by shutting out pedestrian and bike traffic in favor of cars.

$74 Million to save 6 seconds----The Math does not add up!! Disrespecting the neighborhoods that spent a lot of time and energy to become Historic is wrong! Not caring about our Historic buildings or what the people have to say is also wrong! DO IT RIGHT OR DON'T DO IT AT ALL!!!

Please do the right thing and listen to the people of Tucson.

I believe traffic flow would be greatly improved with just bus pull-outs, right-turn lanes and well-working traffic light timing with much less impact

Why is the City of Tucson embracing mediocrity?

Please reconsider the use of valuable resources being spent on such a small change to traffic flow - particularly in the context of losing historic landscapes that cannot be regained.

I would like to see Broadway not widened for the sake of keeping communities connected. I would like for the city to invest on more diverse streets that incorporate pedestrians and cyclists instead of car centric roads.

Wider roads kill vulnerable people -- our children, people with disabilities, our seniors -- by making it more dangerous and more difficult to leave neighborhoods and connect to destinations. This is not the legacy I want to leave behind for my children or grandchildren. I love Tucson, let's make it more beautiful, comfortable and safer for people and for the future. Let's not widen any roads, rather let's focus on creating better options for getting people out of cars to get where we need and want to go. We've given too much space to cars in this region, its time to balance the system.

Make Broadway into a natural continuation of the imaginative work done in the downtown area.
