Make College Heights safer with lower speed limits and resident-only restrictions

My kids are high school age so you would think that they would be safe to walk in our neighborhood. My daughter Zoe told me yesterday that she had to avoid a fast moving car on Curve street by walking into a yard.

I am in full support of this petition. As a homeowner on the big curve of Curve St., I am shocked by the reckless driving through our winding neighborhood.

As a new resident, I would like a traffic light at the intersection of Linden St. and Weston Rd. The blinking lights are extremely dangerous.

I strongly support this petition. I live on Crest and walk my dogs in the neighborhood daily. Drivers fly through the neighborhood, and I have had to frequently jump up onto lawns to avoid cars.

The traffic and speeds in this neighborhood are out of control kids can my play safely in their neighborhood!

Hi - I've just moved to Wellesley recently, and already see some troublesome/dangerous traffic issues in the College Heights neighborhood. Specifically: 1. Steady, and fast-moving commuter traffic coming off Weston onto Curve St during commuter hours, makes it really dicey backing out of my driveway. 2. The intersection of Linden and Weston is a constant snarl-up/problem. 3. The intersection of Curve with Howe/Crest is dangerous, because while there are stop signs on Howe & Crest, there is none on Curve; So, coming uphill from Linden on Curve, one does not stop at the intersection of Howe/Crest, and to date two vehicles coming off Crest have turned right in front of me (and I would have t-boned them if I wasn't being alert for this potentiality).

Posted speed limits of 15 and 20 respectively would really help - with no sidewalks, it's dangerous for neighborhood kids to bike to and from school when cars are legally able to go 30. It feels unsafe for children and pedestrians at rush hour.

30 mph is ridiculously fast for this neighborhood given the width of the streets and lack of sidewalks and especially as it gets darker earlier I worry about children, dog walkers, and other pedestrians.

Avon Road has become a dangerous street. Please help reduce the traffic flow and the speed before something tragic happens.

High speed traffic also endangers people working on their lawn, garden and driveway. Peple drive so fast that they can barely adjust when they see someone on the edge of their property raking leaves for example.

Please include Maurice Road as well. This road is definitely used as a cut through between Weston Road and Route 9.

Please help making our neighborhood safer. Drivers drive too fast and disregard residents' traffic pattern.

Avon Road becomes a highway at rush hour. We have children on this road and it becomes very dangerous for them. It needs to be addressed!

Also, a greater presence of police cars patrolling the area would increase the safety of our neighborhood from the influx of traffic.

I fully support the proposed and any further efforts to address the recently worsening and long standing problem of commuters using College Heights roads as cut throughs. I have 3 young children who like to play outside while at home. I or my wife have to regularly use hand signs or sometimes yell at drivers to slow down as their speed on Ivy Road can be very dangerous.
