I think it is absolutely ridiculous to make cheer non competitive. It has been a competitive sport for longer than 20 years! Why is it that cheer can't be competitive but every other sport is.

Cheer is such a big part of these girls' lives and was a huge part of mine while in school. Being able to tumble and stunt are the best parts of our routines. They make up the sport of our sport. They are the most challenging, exciting parts of being on a cheer team. Please allow these cheerleaders to keep the heart of their sport.

The school district is worried about liability insurance. If they were covered before cheer became a sport, why would that change now that it's a sport? It's like telling football players they can play but they can't tackle or backetball players can dribble but can't run the ball.

Wow I went to dryden over 20 years ago and cheerleaders where iac champs. I can't believe they are doing this.

Nothing has changed other than the recognition of it as a sport. They should be allowed to continue in the format they always have.
